Connemara Noise

It will seem like silence
when you first step into it:
porous, soaking up sound:
but becomes before long
an opportune space
lending slightest sound triple value,
enveloping,
sending sound you
normally cannot catch:
wind in the spider web
in the heather,
and in the heather
the tinkling of
a thousand thousand
tiny pink bells.
