A continuing series of commentaries on poems by a range of poets. These were first published in Mercy E-News, the online weekly newsletter of Mercy International Association. In this series I try to explore how the grace of mercy is evident in our experiences and what challenges and blessings mercy confers on the reader. It is an unashamedly subjective reading of the poems, sometimes using the poem as a springboard. It is not necessarily what the respective poet might see or intend for the poem, but at the same time I trust it does not do violence.
